Tony's 2006 Ride and Event Schedule
The current New Hampshire website is still in existance on MSN Groups, but I'll slowly move it over to the new server as I get more time and knowledge. In keeping with my decision to have route sheets available for all rides, I'll be storing them on this server as well.
Note that some of these events are listed on the COG schedule, and some aren't.
For all rides except where otherwise noted, rain stops play.

Ride to Polly's Pancake Parlor for the opening (Sugar Hill NH). Last year's ride here.
Polly's is Significant-Other-Friendly. Great scenery, food and atmosphere. Roads: the usual mix of twisty and scenic New Hampshire roads, some of the roads under consideration are Rte 118, Winona Road, Rte 175, Halls Brook and a lot more. Ride style: 2-up at a brisk but sane pace. Riders are encouraged to ride their own ride. NOTE the change in START VENUE and DAY. This is one exit further north than in the past. Optional Ride: We will meet at 9:30 for the optional ride from Dunkin Donuts east of exit 24 (Rte 3/25, Ashland) off I-93, or ride directly to Polly's if you prefer. RSVP peferred. |

Tech / Farkle Day: Whitehorse Press We will have the run of the workshop and barn, and they have a good-sized parking lot The Press will also provide lunch, what a deal! And (of course), we will be able to browse the extensive array of books, accessories, and other goodies in the Press warehouse. In addition to the usual tech session stuff, farkling and plastic repair are possible using the tools and inventory at the Press. The Tech session will run from 9 am to approximately 2:30 pm. |

Escape to Lac Megantic, Quebec ‘1 Province, 2 Countries, 3 States, 4 Notches, 9 Lakes, Plenty of Rivers and Countless Corners, in one weekend’, or, join us for lunch in Rangeley, ME at sometime after 12:30 and return home the same day. Contact Tony Shelver before making any reservations. Overview: (More info) Escape from Laconia Bikeweek for the charms of a small Quebecois resort town, and take in some of the best riding in the north east on the way there and back. This is a 2-day weekend trip, but you can also ride to Rangeley for lunch on Saturday and return home the same day. The full trip will cover roads in northern NH, western Maine and eastern Vermont. Ride Style: Possibly 2-up. Ride your own ride and follow the supplied route, I'll more than likely be doing the optional 500+ mile route through Jackman at an 'interesting' pace. Optional Starting Point: We will meet at the Dunkin Donuts at Exit 24 of I-93 on US3 / Rte 25 in Ashland. Fill up bikes and bodies, as the ‘major’ towns on the Curves ‘n Corners route are Rangeley, Kingfield and (optionally) Jackman, Maine. We will lunch at Sarge’s Pub on Rte 4 in Rangeley, across the road from the Rangeley Inn around 12:30. |

Please notify me ASAP that you are coming (by email), and also let me know what bike you'll be on. Route description: Ashland, Sandwich, Sandwich Notch, Waterville Valley, Tripoli Road, White Mountain backroads to Lyme area. North on dirt roads through the Connecticut Valley hills to the Lyman /. Bath area. Cross over into the North Eastern Kingdom of Vermont, and do dirt roads up through the Lyndonville / Burke area to Hazens Notch. Maine Euro Motorcycle Meet: see current and older European motorcycles. Dave Percival will not be opening his BMW Museum this year, but will be bringing a few bikes to the hotel. Last year we stayed at the Jordan Grand Resort Hotel (http://www.sundayriver.com/jordangrandresorthotel.html). You will need to phone the group sales department (207.824.5850 or I think 800-430-0767) Mon - Fri, 8 - 5 to make a reservation. I'm probably assisting Mike Stackhouse with the rally, so will be there Friday through Sunday. |

The '05 Gaspe Peninsula / Northeastern Exposure tour. Place holder for an 'interesting' longer distance multi-day ride. Something like the Alps on a rented BMW, maybe the Gaspe on dual sport bikes via Maine and New Brunswick, or maybe even the Rockies 'off pavement'. |
Leave from the Conway area to Gaspe Peninsula, Quebec |

Issues and opportunities:
I really like Down East (ME) as an area different to the usual NH mountains and lakes. Any volunteers?
I would like to include Maine in our rides.
Regularly scheduled events, such as an evening ride or dinner / drinks after work. Probably southern NH around Manchester would work well. Any ideas?.
